As you may have noticed, I spend a lot of time in Midtown Manhattan. One of the places that I visit the most is the area around Rockefeller Center. The reason is simply, it is close to the Theatre District, there are lots of food options, and it's a great place to kill time! Around … Continue reading Adventures in New York: Fifth Avenue-Midtown

Coming soon…all about my summer road trip and a life unexpected. I do not remember a time that I wasn’t anxious, in big ways and small, but I thought I was crazy and crazy meant rubber rooms and surrounded by white walls. Eventually, it led to a breakdown at 17, a month after I graduated high school. Over time, I embraced that I had chronic generalized anxiety, ADHD, and OCD. I am not ashamed and had gradually mentioned it to students. Then, about 10 years ago, a student said that they had been struggling with depression and that I seemed okay, maybe they would too. I realized how big one small voice could be and then, I became an open book. I’ve heard from students (and followers) how my openness made them feel less alone and that’s all we can ask of someone…to be seen. After my New Years trip to Caprock Canyon State Park, I stopped @officialcadillacranch and saw the most beautiful sunset. Added bonus was the @bucees iced coffee I was drinking (do the southern pecan syrup). I see why George Strait was trying to make it to Amarillo! Read about my trip on the blog! Link in bio @caprockcanyonsstatepark is one of my favorite places in Texas! A few hours northeast of @discoverodessa, it is worth the drive. All about my hikes and close encounters with wildlife on the blog now! So excited to see @thechicks next week on their 20th Anniversary Tour for Taking the Long Way Tour. One of my all time favorite albums and Long Way Around is my personal anthem. I’m beyond stoked to hear Favorite Year (fav song on the album) for the first time live! Exploring state parks are my favorite because I can bring my favorite, Gus, and he can rock his hiking pack! I’m recognize my incredible privilege to have traveled so much, aided by the fact I wasn’t born in the US and lived in Saudi Arabia until I was 4.5. Still plenty of places to explore far and much closer to home! I have always wanted to go to Istanbul and decided to finally go last summer. It’s still a pinch me trip. For someone who doesn’t know much about birds, I sure love taking photos of them!
